Silence can be wisdom,
a shelter from the storm,
a space where anger softens
and wounded hearts transform.
But silence is not always peace;
often it is a shackled cage.
Others twist it into guilt,
and write lies on the empty page.
Sometimes truth must find a voice,
a soul prepared to stand—
to lose approval, friends and place,
and refuse the cruel command.
For someone else may need those words,
someone frightened and alone,
someone waiting for the truth
to give courage of their own.
Like David facing Goliath,
small before the mighty crowd,
he stood his ground with integrity
and made the truth speak loud.
Silence may become avoidance,
manipulation dressed as grace;
it can leave the lost in gossip,
with confusion in clarity’s place.
A clear voice may not persuade them,
but at least the line is drawn;
each person knows where truth has stood
when shadows meet the dawn.
When lies sit down beside the truth
and force it from its chair,
better to build another table
with room for love and air.
A place where honest voices breathe,
where every word is heard—
than ever to sit with anyone,
who silences every word.
Truth shines when held with loving eyes,
open arms and room to breathe—
a place where it is fully known,
and never asked to shrink or leave.
Not caged by others’ judgments,
nor shaped by limits they impose,
but loved and forgiven beyond all expectation—
the universe’s vast embrace.
May we remain aligned with truth,
with courage, love and care;
with compassion for the voiceless
and the strength to make things fair.
May bullies never silence us,
nor wealth, prestige or might;
for power used to crush the weak
can never make wrong right.
