At the centre of a vast net of five rainbow lights,

For the new moon day today, and the first day of Saga Dawa month, I offer this new translation of a long-life aspiration, Swift Accomplishment of True Words for HE 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche composed by the 17th Gyalwang Karmapa and published on Facebook on the date of Tibetan Losar, 10th February 2024. I have not seen any English translation of it yet. In the poetic praise and aspiration, the 17th Karmapa refers to Completion Stage ‘words’ and the wish that
The 17th Karmapa met Gyaltsab Rinpoche for the Tibetan New Year it seems, in an unknown location (Malaysia or Singapore). In the photos, Gyaltsab Rinpoche looks as if he has lost a lot of weight and frail looking.
Despite his old age and ill-health, 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche is currently conducting a month-long programme of activities in Indonesia. Amazing! Thus I offer this new translation, as well as publish a long-life aspiration said to have been written by the great yogi, Jadrel Rinpoche for the 17th Karmapa.

ཤེས་རབ་ལྷ་མོའི་རྩེ་དགའ་དང་བཅས་པའི། །
རྒས་མེད་གཞོན་ནུའི་ལང་ཚོ་རྒྱས་གྱུར་ཅིག །
mi gyur tak pa dam pé dak nyi chen
chi dak dü kyi yül lé namgyel né
shérap lhamö tsé ga dang ché pé
gé mé zhön nü lang tso gyé gyur chik
The true ‘self’ eternally unchanging,
Victorious in the battlefield over demons of death,
The wisdom goddess endowed with love and joy
May ‘evergreen’ youth arise and expand!
བསླུ་མེད་དཀོན་མཆོག་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཐུགས་རྗེ་དང་། །
དཀར་ཕྱོགས་བསྟན་སྲུང་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་མཐུ་རྩལ་གྱིས། །
འདོད་པའི་འབྲས་བུ་དོན་ལས་མི་གཡོལ་བར། །
གེགས་མེད་མྱུར་དུ་འགྲུབ་པའི་མཐུ་བྱིན་ཅིག །
lumé könchok gyatsö tuk jé dang
kar chok ten sung gyatsö tu tsel gyi
döpé drébu dön lé mi yöl war
gekmé nyur du druppé tu jin chik
By the compassionate ocean of the unfailing rare jewels,
the powerful ocean of teaching protectors on the side of purity (white), and
the ultimate meaning of the desired result,
May their unhindered blessing power be swiftly accomplished!
༧ རྒྱལ་བའི་རྒྱལ་ཚབ་གསང་བདག་༧གོ་ཤྲི་ཆེན་པོ་རྟག་པ་དམ་པའི་དཔལ་དུ་འཚོ་ཞིང་གཞེས་པའི་སླད་དུ། རྒྱལ་བ་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་བདེན་ཚིག་གི་མཐུ་སྒྲོགས་པ་པོ་མི་བསྐྱོད་གྲུབ་པའི་ཡེ་ཤེས་ཀྱི་རང་རྩལ་འགག་པ་མེད་པའི་མཐུ་ལས་བྱུང་བའོ། །
The Gyalwa Gyaltsab, master of secrets, Great Goshri, in order to increase his life-force and eternally stability, this resounding declaration sprang from the power of the unstoppable, self-display of unshakeable accomplished primordial awareness of the powerful true words of the Ocean of Victors (Gyalwa Gyaltso).
