Wishing all an auspicious, full blue moon (30th-31st August 2023). The moon is often associated with the female ‘wisdom’ aspect and energy. This idea traces back to ancient cultures that saw the moon as a symbol of the goddess of the night and fertility. Many cultures associate the moon with feminine aspects of life, such as birth, growth, and renewal. Women’s menstrual monthly cycle is also named after the lunar cycle, menses. A blue moon is also considered to be quite rare, hence the English idiom, ‘once in a blue moon.’
So, in celebration of female energy, menstruation, birth, growth and wisdom (as well as India’s first landing on the moon a few days ago), I share two sections of the website dedicated to research and translations related to the female/woman:
