Today’s full moon is the birthday of HE 12th Goshri Gyaltsab Rinpoche and I am sharing this photo, with a verse from the Praises to 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche composed by the 17th Karmapa, Ogyen Trinley Dorje in 2014 (which I translated and published in 2021). I have received several empowerments from the 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche, at his Ralang Monastery seat in Sikkim, India, including the Knowing One Liberates All (chig she kun drol) which I wrote about here. The 12th Gyaltsab Rinpoche has also recently given two full transmissions and teachings on the Collected Works of Je Gampopa, for which I wrote an overview and translated outline of the Collected Works here. I recently composed a biography on the 2nd Goshri Gyaltsab Rinpoche, an important teacher to the 8th Karmapa, Mikyo Dorje, and who played a crucial role in the dispute over the 8th Karmapa’s recognition, which can be read on the Treasury of Lives website, here.
